Hello, my name is Joe Pawlowski. I am a combat-wounded veteran of the Iraq War and a retired
Through Inside the HumV Podcast, I aim to bring the stories of America’s veterans and patriots to the world. My first goal is to interview as many of the Marines I served with on December 28, 2006—the day I was shot twice by an enemy sniper and three of our brothers made the ultimate sacrifice. These are stories that often go unheard, either because combat veterans rarely get the chance to share them or because they don’t feel comfortable doing so.
Many of the Marines I served with have never spoken about what happened that day, not even to their families. Some have carried the weight of those memories alone for nearly two decades. This podcast gives them a chance to open up, maybe for the first time, in a way that’s comfortable and real. Time isn’t on our side. Some of the veterans I hope to interview have been silent for years, and if we don’t capture these stories now, they may never be told. This is history—raw, real, and from the voices of those who lived it.
That’s why Inside the HumV Podcast is different. I’ll be traveling the country in my military Humvee, sitting down inside it with veterans to have open, real conversations. Many people never get the chance to sit in a Humvee, and for some veterans, it’s been years since they last stepped inside one. Whether we talk about war, life after service, or just share some dark-humored laughs, these conversations will be meaningful, healing, and worth hearing.
This podcast isn’t just for veterans—it’s for patriots, too. I want to hear the stories of those who love this country and those whose lives have been shaped by the service of others.
Art and tattoos will also be a part of these discussions. Creating veteran and patriotic art through Devildog Ink and Paint LLC was my first form of therapy, and I’ve shared that healing with many of my brothers and sisters in arms. Whether through canvas paintings, murals, or tattoos, my artwork has connected me with so many amazing people—some of whom I hope to feature on the podcast.
Now, here’s where I need your help. Humvees aren’t exactly fuel-efficient or known for their reliability, especially as they age. To keep Inside the HumV Podcast on the road and bring these stories to the people who need to hear them, I’m looking for support. Whether through sponsorships, parts donations, or financial contributions, every bit of help will ensure we can continue this mission—especially for veterans who may not be able to travel themselves.
Every donation—whether it’s $5 for fuel, $50 for repairs, or sponsorships from businesses—directly helps us bring these stories to life. It means more veterans get to share their voices, more people hear the truth of war and sacrifice, and more healing happens inside the HumV.
Even if you can’t donate, you can help by sharing this mission. Tell a friend, post about it, or tag someone who needs to hear these stories. Every share brings us closer to reaching more veterans and patriots.
Do you know a veteran or patriot with a story that deserves to be told? Reach out! I’d love to hear from you and bring their story to the world.
